A few months ago, I was spending my Saturday night perusing Pinterest after the kiddos were all tucked sweetly into their beds. I like to regularly check out the Hair and beauty section to see if I am missing out on any secret tricks to make me look a little less like a tired, disheveled, mother of three and a little more like a well-rested, tres-chic, mother of three. In case you are wondering, here are the thousands of tips and tricks that I have found, most of which I haven’t found the time or money to try yet. But, there is one that I just went for and I have absolutely LOVED!!!!! The image was intriguing, but when I read the article I was convinced that I needed to give this a try.
I like having painted nails, but typically after a couple days of mothering and household duties my nails are all chipped and look terrible. And I simply do not have the time or patience to do my nails more than once a week, at the most. So, I usually don’t do anything to them expect cut and file when I do the kids nails. But, Hairspray and Highheels had me convinced that by adding in this one product, and no extra time required I could actually have a manicure that looked good for the whole week. So, I began the hunt for American Classics’ Gelous.
I read that you can find it at Sally’s Beauty Supply, but mine was out of it so I just ordered through good ‘ole Amazon. When it arrived two days later I couldn’t wait to give it at try. I followed Hairspray and Highheels’ intrusctions as best as I could.
But, I’m no where near a professional/expert. I don’t even have that much experience. I would say that I am firmly in the novice category. Therefore, I couldn’t get the layers as thin as she suggests so I increased the drying time between layers. I also don’t have any nail polished that cost more than $3 and I didn’t have any problems at all with the interaction. So, why was this little bottle a game changer? Because this is a picture of my nails after more than a week of cleaning house, doing dishes, taking care of three kiddos and putting my nails through the wringer.
They actually ended up lasting almost two weeks. My prenatal induced rapid nail growth ended up being the only thing that could take this stuff down. So, my verdict is: if you like having painted nails and need them to last for a while you should definielty hop on Amazon and give American Classics’ Gelous a try.
But, that’s just my opionon, from one momma to another 🙂
